MMA Combat - Marquardt Bounced for Elevated Levels of Testosterone

Tuesday, June 28, 2011, former UFC middleweight turned welterweight, Nate Marquardt, came forward with an explanation for his highly publicized dismissal from the promotion after failing to pass his medical prior to UFC Live 4 where he was to compete in the main-event against Rick Story.

Marquardt cited a deficiency that required him to take prescribed cycles of testosterone, as recommended by his doctor, as the reason behind his failed test. Marquardt maintains he communicated with UFC officials, and both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania State Athletic Commissions regarding the matter, but after an accelerated cycle, failed to get his levels down to where they needed to be in the week leading up to the fight....
