Team Rough House standout Andre Winner (11-6-1) has officially been cut from the UFC according to multiple sources reporting on Monday, July 11, 2011. After being defeated by TUF Season 9 champion and teammate Ross Pearson on the show's finale, Winner bounced back with two wins against Roli Delgado and Fafaello Oliveira; but the talented lightweight has fallen on hard times of late, dropping consecutive fights to Nik Lentz, Dennis Siver, and Anthony Njokuani most recently at UFC 132 - Cruz vs. Faber where the Brit showed tremendous heart despite being dominated from start to finish.Winner walks away from the promotion with a record of 2-4 inside the octagon, but the 29-year old out of Leicester, England, has all the physical tools to bounce back with some quality wins if his head remains in the game.
MMA Junkie confirmed the news with the fighter's manager, Wad Alameddine, who stressed that the game plan was to stay active while regaining the confidence that made Winner a rising talent in the division prior to the recent drought. They are currently in talks with several regional shows.
